End Of Life
Doula

End-of-Life care involves a deep understanding of options available to clients facing impending death.  More importantly, it requires insights into how family is impacted by death.  Read more about the End of Life Doula services that I provide.

Complex Care
Coordinator

I specialize in Complex Care Coordination or Case Management.  I am trained to deal with hospice, severe chronic illness, clients with special needs as well as people whose families do not live near by.  I frequently am designated with power-of-attorney responsibilities by families who trust that I can protect and make important decisions for their loved one. Patient
Advocate

Armed with my ability to speak to doctors and nurses in their language, to navigate medical bureaucracy and mastery of treatment logistics, I can serve that all-important role of advocating on behalf of my clients.   Medical professionals know me to be fair but fierce.   Unlike many doctors, my one and only loyalty is to my client. Officiant

As a licensed Officiant (ordained minister), I can visit clients in their care facilities immediately without lots of bureaucratic entanglements. This gives me access to my clients when they need me the most. Additionally, I can preside over funerals and give eulogies if needed.

Anita was my mom’s personal caregiver and did a myriad of duties, which changed during the course of my mom’s disease. Her kindness, intuitive nature, love, patience, passion, and knowledge of elder care, especially Alzheimer’s and dementia, made her an asset to the team caring for my mom. She also navigated challenging family situations with siblings with poise and grace.

Anita has been a blessing in numerous ways, including by teaching me about dementia, about how to make connections with a person so very deep in the disease, and about death. She made such an impact on me and my mom’s last years of life. Even at the end, when my mom was so weak she could barely move or speak, when she saw Anita, she would work to raise her arms to get a hug and kiss from “her Anita,” as we called her.

I’d highly recommend Anita for personal caregiving service, as an assistant, or for end-of-life guidance and care.

We all live too far away, so Anita takes mom to doctor’s appointments so we can get the real story on her health issues. She also makes sure her medicines are always filled. She has enabled us to keep mom in her own home and safe!

Being that we are on the other side of the country, it is very comforting to know that my father is in great hands!

When Anita is introduced to confidential information, it’s always kept confidential!

Anita performs activities that a loving daughter would if she lived in the same town as mom. I love that she picks up my mom’s meds at the pharmacy and fills the weekly container.

Anita earned my mother’s trust, and navigated the very difficult task of maintaining her trust while also being attentive to all of my concerns.

Anita is a self-starter who asks appropriate questions and provides concise feedback with text or email every time she interacts with mom.
