What led you to professional caregiving?2020-04-09T15:12:47-07:00

Thanks for asking!  Talk about childhood memories, I can vividly remember my mother lifting me up to kiss my aunt and her infant baby goodbye at the funeral held for them in our family’s home.  I was three years old.  Yet, I knew that something very important was happening and I can still feel that deep in my heart. When my grandmother battled end-stage dementia, I learned how to become her caregiver.  I was only 15 years old, yet I was determined to learn how to communicate with her and aid in her struggles.  I remember these things as if they were yesterday.  Throughout my life, homecare aid, patient advocacy and end-of-life care has been what feeds my soul.  It has spurred me to learn as much as I can about complex caregiving.

How do I know I can trust you?2020-04-09T15:05:02-07:00

That’s a good question.  I encourage you to read the testimonials from clients and their families.  One of my first and most important life lessons is that ”I” is the first letter in Integrity.   Without that I, there’s no integrity.   Trust and integrity are words that have been my guiding star and I believe are an integral part of any caregiver/client relationship.

How do I know if we’re a good fit?2020-04-09T15:09:41-07:00

We won’t until you give me a call and we talk.   Chemistry is one of those intangibles.  It would really help if you share with me an outline of duties that will need to be performed, how oftentimes, budget, location, and anything else that is pertinent to the person who needs the care.   This much I can promise you:  I will be responsive, timely and, most importantly, honest.

Do you interact directly with your client’s medical caregivers?2020-04-09T15:13:49-07:00

Absolutely!   Thanks to my experience and my degree in Public Health, I am able to speak to doctors and nurses in their language, to navigate medical bureaucracy and master treatment logistics.  This makes me an all-important advocate on behalf of my clients.   Medical professionals know me to be fair but fierce.   However, unlike many doctors, my one and only loyalty is to you.

What is your take on the interaction with your clients & their families?2020-04-09T15:13:28-07:00

I am acutely aware that I best serve my clients when I can also serve their families.   For that reason,   I frequently am designated with power-of-attorney responsibilities by families who trust that I can protect and make important decisions for their loved one.  As an End-of-Life caregiver, I am a companion not only to the dying, but to his or her loved ones.   My job is to serve the needs of the entire family.

Is Anita licensed?2020-04-21T20:22:25-07:00

Yes, I am licensed by the state of California as a Home Care Aid. My license number is 7517322451.

What are your fees?2020-04-09T15:10:18-07:00

My fees are customized to fit the needs of my clients and the amount of time that I have available.  Some of the factors I consider in setting my fees is the level of care needed and the demands of the client as well as the extended family (i.e. if reports are needed or not).  I also consider the extent of travel required and consistency of the client’s needs.   I can assure you I won’t be the cheapest caregiver, but I am reasonably certain I’ll be among the most qualified caregiver you’ll interview.
